Best quote from the CHRISTIAN Magistrate for me must me:
“My responsibility as a magistrate, as I saw it, was to do what I considered best for the child, and my feeling was therefore that it would be better if it was a man and woman who were the adopted parents.”
So , assuming without adoption this child could languish in the Care system for god knows how long…this he judges to be in the best interests of the child ? Really?
To me this is really very sad and more than a little short sighted. Strikes me as though Mr CHRISTIAN Magistrates’ Christianity is tailored to suit himself . Are we now to believe that we are taking a step backwards in terms of how a ‘couple’ is viewed by society. I surely hope not as we still have far to go on that scale.
I have little else to say on the subject apart from this man needs to take a long hard look into his soul and then into the eyes of the child who may not now have their well deserved forever family
At least the NHS trust saw sense and suspended him from his role as a non-executive leach (sorry typo, meant Director!)
In fact I am a bit upset by this the more I read and wonder how he sleeps at night after a judgement such as this ! 😦
Wondering what his stance is on Mixed Race parents adopting say a child of one or other or maybe even a totally different race to themselves.
Imagine had he been around and sitting in judgement on the case of white couple Mr and Mrs H seeking to Adopt Black Sheep…wowzers….enough said!
