Not flesh of my flesh

I married for the first time many years ago, an emotional day for anyone (not least cos he eventually turned out NOT  to be my Soul-Mate!)

My adoptive mother is a very special woman who thinks deeply and until recently never really expresses how she feels to me but I have always known how much I am loved and this was a quote she found and I keep it with me today. I hope you like it and feel the poignancy of it in the case of Adoption

Not flesh of my flesh

“Not flesh of my flesh
Nor bone of my bone,
But still miraculously my own.
Never forget for a single minute,
You didn’t grow under my heart,
But in it”.
